Metal parts
When you are done with a weapon, open your Inventory and dismantle it to gain Metal Parts. Metal Parts can be used to repair other items. Although this is not as good as selling a weapon, it can be used to obtained Metal Parts immediately when needed.

Playing guitar
To play the guitar in your bedroom, acquire the "Guitar Lessons" book during the "Siblings" mission in the school.

Sick Bomb blueprint
Go up to the Towers rooftop at the back. Interact with the checkers board to play. Leave the area by using the elevator then immediately return. Interact with the board again. Repeat the process a few times to receive the Sick Bomb blueprint.

Underwater treasure cave
There is a secret underwater cave at the far northeast corner of the Slums. Start at the safe house found along the eastern border, closest to the north edge of the shore. Leave the shanty town and cross the water, moving north along the rocky wall until it goes to the left. Continue along the narrow trench until you find a pair of wooden boards. Climb over the boards and enter the water. You will find a narrow underwater passage that leads to a secret cave. Look along the wall on the right side to find another path leading to more water. Jump in and swim along the left wall to reach a second open-air cavern which contains a treasure chest. Then, turn left and climb up the rock wall at the dead end to find a second duffel bag.

EXPcalibur sword
Although EXPcalibur sword may randomly appear as loot, you can always find one in the southeast corner of the map. Go to the boat house at the large lake in that area. Note: The blocked bridge should be on your left. Continue along the rocky shore to your right until reaching the very edge. Look out towards the middle of the lake to see a very small island. Begin swimming towards that island. After a few minutes you should eventually reach the island and find a body holding a sword. The sword's loot icon will read "This EXPcalibur belongs to me". Search it to collect the weapon. Note: This will take some time. Once the sword is obtained, the corpse will catch on fire. The sword cannot be repaired and will eventually break after a few hits. However it is very power and can kill most zombies with a single hit. Because its stats improve with your level, collecting it later in the game is recommended.

Upgrading weapons
Weapons can be upgraded in two ways, through blueprints and upgrade slots. Both blueprints and slots can be found hidden in various locations. Every weapon has upgrade slots. Higher quality weapons will have more upgrade slots. If a weapon has an empty upgrade slot, go to your inventory and select the upgrade mod you want to apply to it. Different upgrade mods increase different stats. The following is a list of all upgrade mods and their respective upgrades.

- Bleeding: Increased damage output.
- Electricity: Increased chances of stunning an enemy.
- Impact: Increased damage output.

Weapon rarity
Various colors indicate the rarity of a weapon.
- White: Most common weapons.
- Green: Weapons with improved stats.
- Blue: Uncommon weapons with higher stats.
- Violet: Most uncommon weapons with even higher stats.
- Orange: Best weapons.

This can only be done in co-op mode. Additionally, the host cannot earn it. At the end of the test, the Bozak must kill his partner. After finishing the twenty challenges, take the weapon from the box on top of containers. When you kill the three persons, the Bozak will talk with you.

Italian Plumber - Achievement or Trophy Guide
A wrench, the Vault skill, and the Drop Attack skill are required. Find two zombies then equip your wrench. Line up the zombies, then run and vault over the first zombie. Drop attack the second zombie with your wrench.

Harran Athletics - Achievement or Trophy Guide
This can be done in single player mode if you have the Cuisine & Cargo DLC. Quarantine Zones are counted as coop competitions, even when completed in single player mode. With the DLC there are ten Quarantine Zones in total. Complete all of them to earn "Harran Athletics".

Everybody Dance Now - Achievement or Trophy Guide
Lure the zombies to a puddle of water and use the trap. Consider doing this at Old Town. Look for large puddles of water with a small generator nearby. Usually they are at the large town squares. Stand above on the big lamps and throw some firecrackers to lure them into the puddle. Then, jump down and activate the generator. Unlock the electric fence trap upgrade. Stand above an electric fence trap, throw some firecrackers down, then activate the trap.

Enlightened! - Achievement or Trophy Guide
Start a multiplayer game with some other players who have lured zombies in. Activate and reset the light trap without moving. In single player mode, find a light trap close to a safe zone to allow you to run back and heal between activations. You must reset it before activating it again.

Can't Touch This - Achievement or Trophy Guide
Jump up on a van or bus on the overpasses or the big bridge. Lure a crowd with firecrackers. When about twenty of them have been attracted, throw a Molotov cocktail at them.

In the Antenna area, climb to large antenna until you reach the zip lines. Then, travel to the mountains and search for a plant on one of the rocks. It will teleport you to a location where zombies are fighting plants.

During the escort mission for Nick Pesto, he asks you to help him collect some items he lost. Note: You can find Nick tied up inside the back of one of Rais' trucks. One of those items is a ring. Nick says "One ring to rule them all" when he finds it.

The Last Of Us reference
During the "Bunker" mission, progress until getting the "Get Inside the Bunker" objective. Enter Town Hall and walk upstairs. Stand in front of the elevator. When the elevator door opens, a zombie that resembles a Clicker from The Last Of Us will emerge. You can kill it and loot the body.

Dead Island featured a "Left Hand of Glova". The "Left Ball of Glova" blueprint is a reference to the lead game play developer. To get it, find two specific stones in the Old Town area. One of them is on a ledge above ground level, behind the tilted tower to the northwest. The other stone is on the edge of the beach, at the southwest side of the museum. After collecting both stones, place them inside the eye sockets of the skull inside Ishaq's apartment during the "Shadow of the King" side quest.

Call Of Juarez reference
- After helping a woman named Selma, enter her apartment in The Tower, to find a Ray McCall figure belonging to her son. Ray McCall was the main character in the first two Call of Juarez games.
- During the "Gunslinger" mission, you can purchase a Ray McCall figure from the pawnshop. It will appear in your room afterwards and can be interacted with.

Assassin's Creed reference
Travel to the Old Town area in the northwest corner of the map. Go to the castle-like building found along the cliffs facing the ocean. Climb to the tallest and rounded portion of the building to find a small flag, similar to those that are collected in Assassin's Creed. Get the flag to get a small amount of experience points.

Adventure Time reference
You can find graffiti of what seems to be a simplistic animal on the wall next to the Magic Castle. It is actually a very accurate rendering of a horse from season 2, episode 2 of the animated series Adventure Time.

Underwater loot cave and Destiny reference
There is a secret underwater cave at the far northeast corner of the Slums. Start at the safe house found along the eastern border, closest to the north edge of the shore. Leave the shanty town and cross the water, moving north along the rocky wall until it goes to the left. Continue along the narrow trench until you find a pair of wooden boards. Climb over the boards and enter the water. You will find a narrow underwater passage that leads to a secret cave. Look along the wall on the right side to find another path leading to more water. Jump in and swim along the left wall to reach a second open-air cavern which contains a treasure chest. When you approach the chest the message "Decide your destiny! Become a legend! And get the legendary production!" will appear. Then, turn left and climb up the rock wall at the dead end to find a second duffel bag.

Stasis Field Projector blueprint and exploding teddy bear
During the Rupert the Gunsmith quest chain, explore the Magic Fortress in Old Town to find a pink teddy bear in the empty room of the kindergarten, on the floor above Rupert's. Activate the teddy bear repeatedly until it explodes, leaving behind the blueprint for the Stasis Field Projector.

Sick Bomb blueprint and developer reference
Go up to the Towers rooftop at the back. Interact with the checkers board to make a move. Leave the area by using the elevator. Sleep in the bed until morning. Take the elevator back up. Interact with the board again to make another move. After five moves you will win the game of checkers and receive the Sick Bomb blueprint. "Sick" is the nickname of one of the game's lead level designers. Note: Instead of sleeping to advance the time until the next morning, you can just use the elevator to descend to the first level, run one lap around until the auto save indicator appears, then use the elevator again to return to the checkerboard.

Korek Machete blueprint and developer reference
The Korek Machete weapon found in the Slums is named after Korek, the nickname of Techland's optimization lead developer. To find it, travel to the northern end of the Slums and enter the middle safe zone. Travel east to a building shaped like a C-clamp. Find the blue toolbox in a depression on top of the building, then kick it about seventy five times until it opens to reveal a blueprint. The Korek Machete cannot be repaired.

Pyza Suit blueprint and Mario series reference
Climb to the rooftop of the last building in the southwestern corner of Old Town (Screenshot). Jump on top of a strange looking pipe inside a chimney found there and try to pull it open. This will take you to a new area where you must jump on enemies to kill them. You also can smash a hidden brick with your head to reveal a hidden blueprint fpr the Pyza Suit which allows to to momentarily glide through the air.

EXPcalibur sword blueprint and Excalibur reference
Although EXPcalibur sword may randomly appear as loot, you can always find one in the southeast corner of the map. Go to the boat house at the large lake in that area. Note: The blocked bridge should be on your left. Continue along the rocky shore to your right until reaching the very edge. Look out towards the middle of the lake to see a very small island. Begin swimming towards that island. After a few minutes you should eventually reach the island and find a body holding a sword. The sword's loot icon will read "This EXPcalibur belongs to me". Search it to collect the weapon. Note: This will take some time. Once the sword is obtained, the corpse will catch on fire, leaving behind the blueprint for the weapon. The sword cannot be repaired and will eventually break after a few hits. However it is very powerful and can kill most zombies with a single hit. Because its stats improve with your level, collecting it later in the game is recommended.

Unlimited money

Acquire the Melee Throw Skill. Collect or purchase the most powerful weapons that you can find. Travel to a location that is safe from enemies. Use the Melee Throw Skill to throw your weapon at a wall. Immediately after the throw, open the menu, and the same weapon will also appear there. Drop the one from your inventory. You will now have two of the same weapons that can be collected, one that was thrown and one that was dropped. Pick up the weapon again and throw it. Repeat the process as many times as desired to duplicate the weapon. Then, sell the extras for money.
